International Week of Deaf People

The International Week of Deaf People lets people come together and recognise deaf culture - be it through communities, languages or sign languages.

This year's theme for the week is "Building Inclusive Communities for All". During the 2022 celebration of the International Day of Sign Languages, the world will once again highlight the unity generated by sign languages. Deaf communities, governments and civil society organisations maintain their collective efforts - hand in hand - in fostering, promoting and recognising national sign languages as part of their countries’ vibrant and diverse linguistic landscapes.
