#TeamHerts: Royston Volunteer Fair
Healthwatch Hertfordshire recently attended a Volunteer Fair in Royston organised by #TeamHerts a countywide Hertfordshire service providing information for individuals who want to volunteer and charities that want to recruit.
About the event
#TeamHerts pulled out all the stops, even providing everyone with much needed teas and coffees. One of the highlights was when one member of the public told us they had been tempted in by the promise of free tea and coffee. You may call it bribery, we call it good marketing!
Once again we hoped to attract new people to the organisation to volunteer with us. Although the footfall was quite low due to the nasty weather on the day, we were pleased to speak to a number of people about the organisation, and ways that they could contribute to the work that we do. We discussed all three of the volunteering roles that are currently available, as well as mentioning that the role of ‘Engagement Volunteer’ is changing in the not too distant future. Watch this space.
