Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care East of England Celebration and Planning Event
Background and the event
Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care East of England (CLAHRC) is made of up three universities, the University of East Anglia, the University of Cambridge, and the University of Hertfordshire. Over the past five years these universities have been working together to provide solid recommendations based on sound academic research. The day was also about looking forward and planning future work together. Due to our own work, and working closely with the University of Hertfordshire, we are in fact a named collaborator within the CLAHRC applications. Because of this we were very happy to be invited to attend the event as a key partner.
Hosted by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), who also fund the grants, the day started off with a number of talks across a wide range of topics from some excellent speakers. Of particular interest to us were the presentations on Dementia, Frailty & End of Life Care, Patient and Public Involvement, and Health Economics, but it was fantastic to have the opportunity to find out about a wide array of themes within the sector and get a better idea of the current integration of research into the way health and social care is delivered.
