Cost of Living Research receives National Accolade
Healthwatch Hertfordshire was commended in the annual National Healthwatch Impact Awards, which recognise outstanding work using local people's views to improve health and care.
Our research was some of the first to show that the Cost of Living crisis was having an impact on Hertfordshire residents not just financially, but also in terms of their physical and mental health.
Hertfordshire Partnership University Foundation Trust (HPFT), which provides local mental health services, and Hertfordshire County Council’s Money Advice Unit responded by developing a joint initiative to co-locate Money Advice staff within HPFT’s Enhanced Primary Mental Health Care service.
“I’m delighted that our team and their vital work on Cost of Living issues locally have been recognised with this fantastic accolade. It makes me proud to see their work being rewarded, as it continues to have a positive impact on local people.”
Commenting on the accolade, Louise Ansari, Chief Executive of Healthwatch England said:
"The team should feel really proud. Our awards recognise outstanding work that makes a real difference to local people, and the competition this year from across England was very high.
"Being recognised is also a testament to all the local people who were prepared to speak up and the health professionals who listened. It just shows what can be achieved when we work together to improve care."
